Accessing Proceedings of the Yorkshire Geological Society online
This page contains information that will allow you to access the Proceedings of the Yorkshire Geological Society online, through the Lyell Collection.
Users who access journals through the Lyell Collection will have access to articles and editorials before the main Proceedings are published, through the Online First system.
Before you can access PYGS online, you will need to activate your subscription. To do this please follow the steps below. If you are new to the society it may take a few days for your details to be registered with the Lyell Collection
Activating your subscription
1) Activate your member access
Before you start please make sure you have to hand the email address you used to register with the YGS.
To register with the Lyell Collection use following link to access the Connect Services.
This will take you to a new widow (figured left). Enter the email address you provided to our Membership Secretary and click continue. Alternatively, if you already have a CONNECT account, click “Sign in” at the bottom of the window.
After you have clicked “Continue” you will be sent a verification code, enter this into the CONNECT widow where prompted. Then you will be invited to create a password.
2) When activation is complete
Head to the Lyell Collection
Click "Log In | Register", then "Individual Login | Register"
This will open a separate box, you will be wanting to login as an individual.
Enter your email address and then password on the next window
Now that you’re logged in you can navigate to the PYGS.
Select JOURNALS on the top menu and then select the Proceedings in the drop down menu.
3) Accessing the PYGS Archive
One of the great benefits of accessing the PYGS online is that it gives you access to our entire back catalogue, right back to 1839!
To access this, follow the steps above to navigate to the PYGS page on the Lyell Collection, then click on CONTENT and ALL ISSUES.
Then all that remains is to select the year, volume, and issue that you are looking for!
